This is a fairly new tire and not much info so I thought I’d do a quick review for those that might be interested. After being totally disgusted with the noise and harsh ride of another brand, I decided to give these a try.
The CP662 is listed as a performance tire. It is not. The tire is non-directional and the tread pattern is alarmingly similar to the Michelin Pilot series. The tire is very quiet and the ride is much softer than the Kumho Ecsta tires I was running. That being said, I think the sidewall performance is greatly lacking. Anyone looking to use these as performance tires need to look elsewhere. Dry traction is good but they will break away significantly sooner than a true performance tire. Rain traction is really good and handled a Southern toad choker thunderstorm with relative ease.
I was searching for a touring tire with performance tire looks. The CP662 has so far fit the bill in the first 700 miles. Quiet, comfortable ride with good looks. There is also the advantage of the non-directional tread pattern will give a few more rotation options thus hopefully extending the life of the tire.
I paid $503 mounted/balanced for the set. If I can get 30,000 miles out of them, I’ll feel as if I’ve gotten my money’s worth. If you’re an old fart like me and are looking for comfort with sport looks, the CP662 might be worth taking a look.
