My warm greetings to carclub.mk  ;)

My name is Dimitris, I live in Thessaloniki, Greece, and I own a 2008 Ford Fiesta ST.
Originally 150bhp it now has the following tunes:

Engine:
K&N 57i air induction kit
Piper 55mm exhaust flexi-pipe
Dreamscience/custom ECU remap
220mm Helix sport paddle clutch

Suspensions-Chasis-Handling:
Weitec Hicon GT coilover suspensions
KEI Racing Force 10 17'' rims
OMP front top strut bracers

Brakes:
Goodridge high pressure hose kit
EBC Yellowstuff pads
EBC grooved discs

I use it for... pretty much everything, from going to work, to some (shh) drag racing, to visiting the race track (SRC mostly).
One of my laps in Serres Racing Circuit (not my best, unfortunately)


I was invited by my good friend "zerosignal". A very cool forum you got here guys. It's awesome to see your passion about cars and I see some amazing rides in the forum. Keep it up. I've been trying my best to make some time and show up in one of your meetings at a point. Zerosignal has been trying to lure me into some upcoming track day, so we'll see.

What is the power output of the engine after the modifications? Also, you have a very well prepared track car (it looks more like a racer than it does like an everyday car).

Thanks for the warm welcome, and for your kind words :)

Most of the tunes were done in various shops. Brakes were installed in a Ford dealership, suspensions were installed at the local tyre-shop I get my tyres from, the exhaust tweak was done at a well known exhaust shop in Thessaloniki.

The ECU remap... well, mostly by me and a friend. It's really hard to find proper ECU programmers in Greece, especially for a car that is so rare. The ST actually doesn't share its ECU with any other vehicle so we had to order the remap software from SCT in the US (cheaper than Dreamscience UK) and mostly tune everything on our own.

I don't know the current power at this point, I hadn't had the chance to dyno test it (will do it with the final ECU tunes) but I do estimate around 165-170bhp with a very good power curve. I do have a few recent "street drag races" if you want to see some results on the road.

This is with a Corsa OPC (with changed air induction) before my ECU remap (PS. I did completely start bad on the first go)

And these are with the new Seat Ibiza FR DSG (stock, 150bhp) with my current ECU remap

it's a really nice car, great engine for a small car which weighs a little more then a ton. can you put some pics from the interior?

Welcome to the club, im glad to see the number of fords are increasing :). Tell us more about the car I suppose you have 2.0 duratec in the Fiesta, and tell us more about your future plans like turbocharger maybe :). I love the stripes

Hmm. I don't have any recent interior shots. I'll post once I've taken some soon. I need to re-shoot it anyway soon.

Ha! Future plans. There are plenty, but most of them have nothing to do with the engine.

The engine is in fact the 2L duratec. It uses the same block (but not induction) as the Focus ST170

To do list:
- Full exhaust remake, 55mm tube size custom (will keep my mid range power and torque) - ( re-remap afterwards :P )
- Quaife Limited Slip Differential (on the front wheels :P)
- Proper bucket seats. These are "OK" but nothing more than that. Looking into a nice pair of Recaros
- Larger 4-pot front brakes, larger 2-pot rear brakes

... ok and after that, it just goes insane, I won't be able to afford/have time/want to mess with anything else. The list up there will cost me as much as the rest of the car currently costs... which does sound mad, but the pleasure of tuning never dies :P

As far as the engine is concerned, there are a few turbocharged fiestas out there, but there actualy is so little space under the bonnet to do proper work.
A few people in Greece have installed a supercharger and have seen power up to 420bhp, but the car has become unmanageably fast. After I'm done with the exhaust and a few minor tweaks on the engine current and induction I will see around 190-195bhp, which is perfect for this chassis, and I'll be able to drive it to work every morning without being worried if it will start in the morning or break down on the road.

That was the exact reason in my case too. I made it my Peugeot 106 S16 up to 320 hp and...the headache has begun.

Oh, so you're the guy with the "mental" 106 I heard about :) That thing has got to put a smile on your face every time though.

The "unmanageably fast" comment did refer to the fact that a local magazine driver was trying to measure 0-100km time on that car and literally could not start it properly. Power came too fast too soon.

I do hope you have another sensible every day car :)
