HOW AN ALFA CAN RUIN YOUR LIFE

Being a teenager the budget was low and therefore the cars that I was going through were miserable. Opel Astra, Daewoo Matiz, in time to time a Saab might pop in.

My confidence fell through the ground until one day my mom called: "Andrea I found the car for you, it's an Alfa!".

My first thought was "Run!". Since I knew the heritage the Alfa badge brings I decided to do the responsible thing and tell my mom to leave the Alfa alone.

She would not let it go so one day she brought me to see it, it was and Alfa Sud Sprint from 1985. From there it went all south.

I did not know much about Alfa's so I was expecting it to be a bucket of rust with an awful engine and uncomfortable ride quality.

Why would anyone sane buy such a car when it had no air-conditioning, power steering a 1.5 litre engine with a blown exhaust , especially when you live in Australia a country known for the extreme weather conditions.
