Oh, so you're the guy with the "mental" 106 I heard about That thing has got to put a smile on your face every time though.

The "unmanageably fast" comment did refer to the fact that a local magazine driver was trying to measure 0-100km time on that car and literally could not start it properly. Power came too fast too soon.

I do hope you have another sensible every day car

The same problem was with my car too. The power output on the Dyno was at about 320 hp but the chassis of the car just could not make it. The actual power on the asphalt was at about 280 hp. The turbo power was too big. The 0-100 speeding was the problem because of the same reason ( car could not start properly ) and the max speed was much bigger than 240 km/h but the feeling inside was like you were driving a horse car with a car engine on it and i wanted to use my car for every day. The smile on my face was guaranteed but...that's it.

And yes i do have some other cars for day- work driving ( Golf 4, Uno ) and my Peugeot 106 S16 but standard

Unlike on other forums, peaceful harmony rules among all the members here. Alfisti and the rest of the automotive world get together very well. There are, however, a few that start pointless conversations regarding Alfa Romeo's lack of "reliability" or something, but it all goes away pretty quickly, because every car owner knows that a well maintained car, is a good car. Haha. Cars go well with people who are evil/crazy/etc. So I feel like home.

Slight update for the fiesta. We spent half the Sunday with a Performance Box and a huge straight line to count our cars' performance.

Here's mine:

0-60km/h 3.72sec
0-100km/h 7.72sec
0-160hm/h 19.37sec
60-160km/h 16.14sec

0-400m 15.69sec
0-1000m 28.67sec

My comments: Decent 0-100km/h, I expected to do worse. Not that good 0-1000m.

anything to 160km/h: depends of the nearest downhill

My previous car was a 1250cc (75bhp ) MK6 3D Trend (2005). Lovely little bugger with almost no gas consumption. I miss it

The S16 has 30 hp less, but better acceleration times. What do you think is the culprit for this lost battle?

btw, you have improved your 1000m time for ~1.2 seconds.

Weight. It's always the weight. Previous (than my fiesta) generation supermini sporty 1.6 are super lightweight.
Check out the Weight to power ratio. It's quite a difference.

1st stage S16s are a bit faster than me over here. Especialy the ones with stripped rear seats and everything tend to race/beat much much faster cars than the fiesta.
