Engine wise, the 2016 BMW M4 GTS will make use of the same basic 3 liter twin turbocharged inline 6 from the M4. Unlike the base engine, this actually will make quite a bit more
power at 470 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque thanks to a new intake system and a different exhaust. This changes mean that the car
will get from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 3.5 seconds and up to a maximum top speed of 155 MPH. Unlike the normal M4, the GTS will get a tweaked version of the 7 speed automatic. The manual is still uncertain if it will be released on the GTS.
That performance level is also achieved with the help of an improved chassis. While the normal M4 weighs a massive 1670 kg, the
GTS is supposed to weigh less than 1400 kg making it one of the lightest in the series. This weight should also allow it to be brilliant in the corners and should allow for a wider range of driving styles.
