EVO NOT DEAD!!!
Во меѓувреме откако излезе веста дека ќе престане, излезе некаков си демант. Ќе има и ново ЕВО, но малку поразлично.
Reports of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo’s death have been greatly exaggerated. After the unsurprisingly angry backlash the company received from its fanbase, Mitsubishi has apparently reversed its decision to kill its flagship rally fighter.
Mitsubishi now must find a way to balance the ferocious performance and cult-status image of the Evolution with the new eco-friendly image it’s developing around the world. The Evo X will still be available, but the next generation will “evolve” into a different direction—something that may surprise the Evo’s thousands of fans.
In a press release, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Global Chief Executive, Osamu Masuko indicates that perhaps the Evo never was axed and that the automaker has plans for the next generation of the vehicle. Masuko comments that in response to new market demands the automaker, “is considering not advancing the Lancer Evolution concept in the same way as before, but to find a different direction for the Lancer Evolution model to evolve.”
With previous rumors that the car could include hybrid or electric technology, this seems all the more likely by additional remarks that the car’s future direction and the “technologies involved” in it, will be revealed at a later date.
So rest assured Evo faithful, the STi-killer isn’t dead, but it may never be the same.

Diesel, from being used predominantly in trucks and locomotives is finding more than just acceptance in high performance cars used for racing. What began as an unusual trend with touring cars and Le Mans racers like the Audi R15 TDI and the Peugeot 908 HDi is soon becoming mainstream with the latest icon to probably join this growing tribe being the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Diesel Hybrid. Oh yes, petrolheads will cringe at the very thought of refueling at the sticky fuel end but yes, that will happen and no, we aren’t afflicted by the mid season madness for some nasty jokes here.
Before petrolheads get worked up as to why on earth would be brute of turbo rocket go sticky fuel, we’ll make it easy for you and lay down the string of events that has culminated into this dreadful circus for petrolheads. The world is going green and rightly so. Europe, however leads this campaign of going green and is trying it’s darndest best to say go greener than it’s neighbors across the pond. This forced the white coats at Mitsubishi to take a long, hard look at the petrol gulping Mitsubishi Evolution-X Turbo and do all they could with their collective wisdom to help the Evo-X make the cut.
The Evo-X simply didn’t feel like sipping fuel through a straw and still managing to be the visceral acceleration and handling junkie that it always has been. A watered down piddly Evo-X was simply out of the question and hence we had the white coats coming up with another alternative, this time the sticky and oh-so-despicable dirty fuel seems to be the perfect antidote. So, ergo, we have a diesel motor thrown into the next gen Evo-X’s engine bay with a little hybrid motor tagging along as a freebie, ahem. Before you scream con job, wait for this. How about a nought to sixty in 5 seconds and 0-62 mph and CO2 emissions of under 200g/km.

And the typical diesel engine trait of sipping fuel through a straw will certainly apply to the mighty Evo-X as well. Of course, when you floor it, you cannot see the revs shooting off the limiter even before you can say oh-Fluck-goodness-gracious nor can you get the windows down and not hear the diesel clatter. Small concessions to make, aren’t they? Strange but true and this is just how performance cars of the future might be.
As the world goes diesel in a search of a cleaner, greener, stickier fuel, you might perhaps have the Ferraris and Lamborghinis of the world too hustling along with diesel engine. If you’re still a petrolhead, too bad for you. Remember a certain gentleman called Darwin?http://www.indiancarsbikes.in/cars/mitsubishi-lancer-evo-diesel-hybrid-evolution-truest-sense-13045/
