The 700-horsepower Lamborghini Aventador, for example, can only pull off 18 mpg, and it has seven horsepower less that the Hellcat.
Additionally, the $287,820 Aston Martin Vanquish and $221,580 SLS AMG GT received 18 mpg and 19 mpg highway ratings, respectively, plus they are well below the 600-horsepower mark.
We still have yet to learn the Hellcat’s city and combined mpg ratings, but I am willing to bet these will be nowhere near 22 mpg.
The city rating will likely come in at around 15 mpg with the combined rating hanging around the 18- or 19-mpg range.
Those are also decent ratings for a 707-horsepower muscle car but will certainly put a dent in your wallet.
It’s simply amazing what modern technology can do in the fuel-economy department.

Аs Kiniskis says, this "science-project car" is "not for everybody." Despite having a powertrain that can burn a whopping 1.5 gallons of fuel per minute, when not driven like an utter maniac, it can still return an impressive 20 miles per gallon on the freeway. As previously confirmed, this is a drag-racing powerhouse right from the factory, with a quarter-mile time of 11.2 seconds on street tires or 10.8 on drag radials.
