The car pictured above is the first example of Canepa Motorsport's 'Gen III' 959. A new parallel twin-turbo system with Borg-Warner turbos replaces the original sequential system, and integrates wastegates with titanium heat shields to manage the additional power. In addition ot the turbos, an upgraded fuel system, clutch assembly, wiring harness, fuel system, exhaust, and ignition system help bring this 959 up to modern supercar standards. The car now makes an insane 763 horsepower—over 300 more than what it originally put out.
The adjustable suspension standard in the 'Komfort' trim of the 959 has been replaced with coilovers that came standard in the 'Sport' trim, albeit with Canepa-spec gas struts and titanium springs. The shop has also reengineered the car's factory hollow magnesium wheels to accept modern high-performance tires.
Canepa didn't stop at performance, either. He went the extra mile and re-did the entire interior in accordance with the original design. The end result is a clean, OEM-looking masterpiece.
