I will start with the good:The car is still super fun to drive. The more I drive it, the more I enjoy its power delivery and its rawness. The turbo noise, the loud engine just behind your head, the simplistic cabin and the lack of power steering makes truly a driver's car. The power delivery is very addictive. It's beautiful. The design of the car is timeless. It's like having a beautiful Italian model. You feel butterfly in your stomach before kissing her good morning. It gives you a rush even before sitting in the driving seat. It's loud. That can be a negative for some of you, but for me, it's a plus. I have the sports exhaust and I just love the way it sounds. The car is very simple and the parts are somewhat cheap. A lot of parts are shared with other FCA product such as the Alfa Romeo Mito, Dodge Viper, Fiat 500. So you won't necessarily pay the "Ferrari price". Plus it's a 4 cylinder, you don't have to pay 1K to change the sparkplugs and other maintenance items. The car is simple to work on. If you are mechanically inclined, you will notice that because all the panels can be removed like a race car, it's very easy to work on the car.Now for the bad:Build quality is garbage. I mean it's true what they say about FCA. These cars have dash delaminating issues from 2015 to 2016. My dash was replaced under warranty. Then when it was replaced, one of the air vents stopped working. Little things like that that do not inspire confidence. Same thing with the paint. It's thin and easy scratched. I know the whole car was hand-built, but shit, come on guys.Reliability is uncertain. Because the car is a 2015, I had to do preventive maintenance and replace the timing belt (yes the car uses a belt) and the water pump. My mechanic told me that I did well because when he changed the water pump, he noticed that the water pump bearing was leaking. The DDCT transmission is the weak point. 2 weeks ago, I got a check engine light and a message warning me of a transmission issue. In my case, it was an issue with the TCM. They had to replace it because of some water drippage got into it. In the 2017 and up, Alfa Romeo installed a shield over it. Other owners have reported: actuators failure, early clutch wear, and complete transmission failure. The fact that they used the same transmission as in the Dodge Dart is beyond me. Especially knowing all the issues the Dart has with the TCT transmission.
Fiat/Alfa Romeo dealerships are trash. If you buy a 4C thinking it's going to be taken care of like an exotic, you're wrong. Especially if it's a Fiat dealership. They won't give a fuck. Better to find an Alfa Romeo/Maserati dealer if you problems that needs to be fixed under warranty. Other than that, find a good independent mechanic and build a relationship. I bought and gave the service manual to my independent mechanic before replacing the timing belt.
