Caterham F1 Team to race in Abu Dhabi thanks to the fans

The Caterham F1 Team is delighted to announce that it will be racing at the final Formula 1 Grand Prix of the season in Abu Dhabi on 23rd November thanks to the support of the fans, who have helped the team raise enough money. But you can still support the team and get involved. The deadline has been extended to midnight (GMT) Sunday 23rd November.

McLaren have run new partner Honda's turbo hybrid engine for the first time at Silverstone.

The team, who are starting a 10-year works partnership with the Japanese manufacturer in 2015, have built an interim car to test the engine.

The car had a "shakedown" test run on a "filming day", which allows 60 miles of running within the rules restricting testing.

McLaren test driver Oliver Turvey was at the wheel on Friday.

The MP4-29H/1X1 car stopped on track once, but the team managed to get it going again immediately.

McLaren said the car was not run at racing speed, so they were unable to glean accurate first impressions of the engine, but said there was "a lot of positivity".

The team plan to ship the car to Abu Dhabi so it can take part in the two-day test immediately after the season-closing race next weekend.

Секоја компонента има своја „тежина“, вкупната тежина на целата погонска единица е 66. Иако најголем дел од компонентите смеат да се променат за 2015-та, тежината на сите компоненти кои ќе се променат нема да смее да надмине 32, односно дозволени се промени на 92% од компонентите, но смеат да се променат најмногу 48%.

Ќе им биде тешко да го достигнат нивото на Мерцедес од оваа година со вакви ограничувања. Мислам дека пак Мерцедес ќе има убедливо најсилен мотор.

The Briton said nobody would miss the Marussia and Caterham teams, which went into administration last month. With typically controversial language, Ecclestoone suggested other struggling teams should simply spend less.

“These teams don’t need to be in financial trouble,” he insisted. “They need to think about what they have got to spend and do the best they can with that... it’s the same problem with ladies and credit cards.”

Almost seven weeks after Jules’ accident at Suzuka Circuit, and following a challenging period of neurological intensive care, we are able to announce that Jules has made an important step.

    Jules is no longer in the artificial coma in which he was placed shortly after the accident, however he is still unconscious. He is breathing unaided and his vital signs are stable, but his condition is still classified as ‘critical’.

    His treatment now enters a new phase concerned with the improvement of his brain function.

    Jules’ neurological condition remains stable. Although the situation continues to be serious, and may remain so, it was decided that Jules was sufficiently stable to be repatriated to his native France. We are relieved, therefore, to confirm that Jules was transferred aeromedically last night from the Mie Prefectural General Medical Center in Yokkaichi, Japan, to Le Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Nice (CHU), where he arrived just a short time ago.

    Jules is now in the intensive care unit of Professors Raucoules and Ichai, where his care will also be monitored by Professor Paquis, Head of Neurosurgery Service.

    We are thankful that the next phase of Jules’ treatment can continue close to home, where he can be surrounded and supported by his wider family and friends. We have nothing but praise for the outstanding care provided by the Mie Prefectural General Medical Center since the accident. We owe the medical staff there an enormous debt of gratitude for everything they have done for Jules, and also for our family, during what is a very difficult time for us. In particular, we would like to extend our thanks to Doctors Kamei and Yamamichi, and also to Mr Ogura, all part of the team of personnel caring for Jules in Japan.
