The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51 is American muscle that hits hard. It features a 6.2L LT1 V8 engine with VVT, direct injection, and cylinder deactivation. It produces 460 HP and 465 lb-ft of torque. This particular model is the 2LT convertible with Z51 package.
There are five different selectable drive modes: weather, for when weather is happening, eco, to save fuel and maximize use of cylinder deactivation, touring, sport, and track. Each of these modes can alter up to 12 different parameters; steering effort, shift points, exhaust noise, electronic differential settings, suspension stiffness, stability and traction control, and more.
The Z51 package offers a performance exhaust which adds 5 hp and 5 lb-ft, a dry sump oil system, larger performance brakes with slotted rotors, a performance suspension with upgraded shocks, springs, and sway bars, different wheels and tires, performance gear ratios if you’ve selected the manual option, an electronic limited slip differential, a rear differential cooler, transmission cooling, and an aero package.
This video will take a look at the exterior, engine and drivetrain, wheels, tires, suspension, interior, features, as well as a quick test drive and summary of the fuel economy.
