New details began to emerge about the 2013 Honda Civic Type-R. The general manager of Honda’s research and design to say the model will have a “special bumpers, wheels, spoiler and seats.” The car will also feature a suspension return for improved handling.
As previously reported, the Civic Type-R is expected to use 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with around 210 hp (157 kW / 213 PS). This could allow hatchback model to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 6.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 150 mph (241 km / h).
The Civic Type-R will continue to have a high-revving naturally aspirated petrol motor that could deliver more than 200bhp with a marked focus on handling instead of pace. According to Yoshikazu Kigoshi, general manager for Honda research and design centre, the new Type-R is made different from the standard car by adding special bumpers, wheels, spoilers and seats as well as firmer springs and better settings
