Suzuki GTI: Volkswagen loses legal battle to stop Japanese firm using its trademark name

Volkswagen has lost its legal battle to prevent Suzuki from using the familiar 'GTI' tag on one of its cars.
The German firm appealed when the European Union’s OHIM trademark office rejected its complaint that the Swift GTi name that Suzuki wanted to register would cause confusion with the celebrated Golf GTI.
But today’s ruling from the European Court of Justice backed the OHIM in declaring that the public would not be confused - particularly as car makers including Rover, Peugeot, Citroen, Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Toyota have all used the term GTI on some models.

Vw i Suzuki formiraa alijanca, i Vw mu pusti tuzba na partnerot za imeto, za koe patem ne poseduva nikakvo pravo. Ova ne e prvpat Vw da tuzi i gubi vo spor za ime. Pred nekolku godini izgubi sudska bitka za imeto TDI, za koe isto taka ne poseduva pravo na sopstvenost.

Junior/Allegra

It is no longer a secret that Opel has been working on a new model to be placed under the current Corsa. At this point, the new vehicle is being called the "Opel Junior," but it is believed that the future model will be called Allegra and that it will debut in 2013 as a competitor for models like the Volkswagen Up and the Fiat 500.

Be it Opel Junior or Allegra, the new model has been caught testing for the first time outside a test facility while driving on public roads. The model will be about 3.7 meters long and will only be offered in a three-door variant.

As far as power is concerned, Opel has yet to officially announce the engine lineup for the Junior/Allegra. However, it is believed that it will be powered by a new family of engines, which we may also be seeing in the next generation Opel Corsa. Considering the fact that Opel is already preparing an electric powertrain for the Rak, expect to see an electric version of the Junior as well.

Американскиот сенат одобри нацрт закон, според кој сите нови автомобили во САД задолжително треба да бидат опремени со т.н. "црни кутии". Тоа се уреди кои сега ги имаат авионите и кои запишуваат што се случува во внатрешноста, за да во случај на инцидент може полесно да се откријат причините за него.
Ако новината биде одобрена и од Конгресот, законот ќе стапи во сила од 2015 година.
Американското општество на оваа тема, сепак има различни ставови. Дел од луѓето се на мислење дека вакво нешто е "инвазија на нивната приватност", додека други не гледаат ништо лошо - дури напротив, сметаат дека вакво нешто ќе и помогне на полицијата при истражување на сообраќајни несреќи.

Сепак законодавците променија некои точки од првичниот проект. На прво место автомобилските производители ќе бидат должни да ги информираат купувачите на нови автомобили, дека во нив има "црна кутија". Освен тоа, сите податоци во нив ќе бидат сопственост само на сопствениците на возилото. И тој ќе биде должен да ги предаде на органите на власта само со судски налог или давање квалификувана медицинска помош.

Раководството на Renault-Nissan Alliance објави дека компанијата има постигнато договор со рускиот гигант Russian Technologies за можност на нови вложувања, кои ќе овозможат на Алијансата да добие индиректен мнозински удел во АвтоВаз. Russian Technologies ќе ги реструктурира обврските на AвтоВаз, а Renault-Nissan Alliance ќе направи инвестиција во износ од 750 милиони американски долари и при финализирањето на операцијата во средината на 2014-та година ќе добие 67.13% по новиот зафат. По ова Алијансата ќе има 74.5% од AвтоВаз.

Во 2008 година, Renault купи 25% од АвтоВаз и помогна на компанијата да започне реструктурирање. Со новите вложување, француската марка ќе инвестира 300 милиони долари, а останатите околу 450 милиони ќе дојдат од Nissan.
